We're advocating for prosperous neighborhoods and safe streets that work for everyone, in every season
Help create safer, more accessible Duluth streets for everyone
We're on the verge of a breakthrough for safer and more accessible Duluth streets!
After years of persistent advocacy, a Transportation Commission for Duluth is finally within reach. This commission would transform how our city plans streets—helping to ensure they work for everyone whether you walk, bike, drive, or use transit.
But we're not across the finish line yet. The vote was tabled at the July 21st meeting to address edits from additional city staff and to consider reducing the number of commissions. The new likely vote date is August 25th, and it's still important to show your councilors how important this is!
⏰ New Vote Date: Monday, August 25th. Get details and timeline at the link above.
Walking is the foundation of a vibrant city. When people feel safe and comfortable walking, neighborhoods thrive, local businesses prosper, and communities grow stronger. It's the most affordable and accessible way to get around, benefiting everyone from kids to seniors.
Biking offers Duluthians an affordable, healthy, and sustainable way to get around our city. When more people choose to bike, we see less traffic congestion, cleaner air, healthier residents, and a stronger local economy - all while maintaining Duluth's reputation as an outdoor recreation destination.
A strong transit system is essential for an equitable city. Good transit ensures everyone can access jobs, services, and opportunities regardless of age, ability, or income. It reduces household transportation costs while helping create a more sustainable Duluth.
How we use land shapes everything about our city - from housing costs to tax revenue to transportation choices. Smart, compact development creates vibrant neighborhoods that cost less to maintain, support local businesses, and give residents more housing and transportation options.
